Careers - Junior Technical Support Engineer

Position Summary

  • Provide technical assistance to our customers via our online support forum, e-mail, instant messaging, and telephone, regarding the operation and configuration of Brekeke Software products
  • Perform in-house tests for solving technical issues at customer sites
  • Work closely with development team as needed
  • Write and edit technical documentation, such as troubleshooting manuals, and FAQs
  • Software development may be included, depending on experience

Required

  • Interest in VoIP technology, especially SIP
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, UDP, LAN, Internet
  • Technical proficiency in Windows, Linux, HTML, SQL
  • Written and spoken English communication skills
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and customer relations skills
  • Eagerness to learn and to expand technical skills
  • Self motivation and ability to multi-task

Preferred

  • Experience/knowledge in VoIP, especially SIP
  • Experience in technical support, QA
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Experience in software development (coding)
  • Experience in analyzing network activity and protocol communications using packet analyzers
  • Working knowledge of firewalls, routers, WLAN, RADIUS, VPN

Terms

  • This is a contract-to-hire position
  • $15/hour (First month as probation period)
  • Full time is preferable, however part–time would be considered
  • This position needs to be filled immediately
  • No relocation
  • No visa sponsorship
  • No telecommuting
